Hi there people Very Happy

Well, I've noticed recently a recurring pattern with my social anxiety. In the daytime, it's really bad and I'm depressed and in no mood to do anything with people and such. Late in the night, however, I get surprisingly optimistic and think to myself how I'm going to fix this problem, improve myself, and all that good stuff. It basically feels as though my social anxiety is gone and I have no worries. Then when morning comes the next day, I'm sadly back to where I started. It's like an involuntary thing; it happens almost every day like this without me having much (if any) control over it. When I'm in SA mode, I repeat the things I told myself the night before in my mind, but they just have no meaning anymore, and half the time I just don't even care. The opposite is also true; In the night time I remind myself of the negative things I thought during the day, but I quickly dismiss them and continue with my blissful optimism. I just wanted to know if anyone else noticed this with themselves, and if it means anything.

My personal theory is that the positive thinking at night is a result of the fact that the day is over and the risk of social interaction is gone for the time being. The brain may subconsciously let itself go once it percieves that the risk is gone, and since the morning is the beginning of a new day with all kinds of social situations to come, it goes into the defensive SA mode we all know and love. Rolling Eyes Anyway, that's just my theory. Let me know your thoughts on the matter.

I'm 17 and sick of this SA crap and want to get rid of it. Mad

Everyone take care.

Often the most logical and rational explanation is the correct one. So I agree what you said here -

Same thing with me.

I think it has to do with my body finally leveling out and becoming normal.

same, but i more like i reset. i like make social interactions make friends during the day, and night, but when i sleep and wake up is like i start all over can't talk to the people i just made friends with, try to distance myself from them is weird, is i like a reset to me. strange thing is if i don't go to sleep and stay awake im like that same person and the reset doesn't happen.
