...afraid to go out in case the neighbours see you.
...making excuses to leave the dinner table as soon as dinner is over in case a family member says something that embarrasses me.
...swapping lunch times with my co-worker so i can go to lunch 2-3pm on my own.
... hiding at the back corner of a meeting room so i wont be noticed and get embarrassed and also avoiding eye contact for the same reason.

it takes you sometimes months and sometimes never get around to calling people you wanted to call or put off getting certain things done that would involve speaking, meeting, interacting with others..

You never fail to get anxious walking past people in the street because you think they're staring at you, or you think they can tell that you are nervous by your body language and by your facial expression, or you automatically think that they are assuming bad things about you.

You see a work colleague or someone you know coming down the hall at work and you think to yourself,"oh no, what will I say, should I smile and say hello, will they think I'm an idiot", and a million other thoughts which cross your mind and make you feel like hiding.

You keep planning to go to lunch with old friends and from the time you agree to do it up until a few hours before you are dreading it and making up good excuses and then finally you just send an email telling them you forgot about a doctors appt or anything you can think of to get out of it. Then, you are so relieved and feel like a huge burden has been lifted off your shoulders. Embarassed

When you look at pictures of yourself you always have your arms crossed and are a little hunched over.

You look like you are about to burst into tears all the time, even when you have having a good day

You need alcohol to feel normal

even complete strangers constantly ask you "are you ok?"

Just when you are starting to feel comfortable in a social situation, or you feel proud of yourself for being able to be a part of the conversation, someone feels the need to say "why are you so quiet?"

really, more like months to years.

~when you are the complete oposite of yourself when you drink

~when you can't do anything you want to do b/c your too scared

~when you don't have a single real friend and the closest person to you is just an aquaintance

~when you are like 20 like me and have never been kissed or had a boyfriend

These all apply to me! I love myself when I drink, it gives a sense of relief and a mask to use.

And I'm too sacred of anything, as my 'friend' said You're too scared of life you need to lose your inhibitions, and stop being a child Crying or Very sad Not the best thing for her to say.

...you would rather keep something that is broken/doesn't fit/you didn't really need, regardless of how much you paid, than go to to customer services, return it, and get your money back.

..., when you are driving and need to make a left turn or cross a busy road, the fact that there are cars waiting behind you makes you so nervous that you can't concentrate and you make a bad decisions (especially if you are otherwise a very safe driver).

...you forget how to read when you're looking for something in the grocery store because you are too concerned with the people around you. (Or, to generalize, you forget how to do anything if there are people watching you.)

...you take, "You're so quiet!" to mean, "You're so boring!" even from people you've been friends with for years.

...you almost dread romantic situations because they will inevitably involve anxiousness on your end and, therefore, vomit. (Bad experiences XD)

...you're so used to censoring what you have to say that you start to believe you actually don't have anything to say.

...your grades have ever suffered because you were too scared to ask questions.

...you put off getting your hair cut, cavities filled, or anything else because the idea of making an appointment over the phone terrifies you.

and I know this one has been posted several times, but I find it so hilariously true:
...you get nervous before posting on this forum.
