I tend to only fear things that I may actually encounter or experience. A speech is certainly a frightening thing, but there's no way in hell I'd ever give one, so I don't bother dwelling on that one. I also imagine death by 10,000 papercuts would be terrifying, but again, unlikely.
My concrete fears are heights and spiders but I just avoid them. Doesn't cause me too much stress. What truly terrifies me and keeps me awake at night is the thought of losing my loved ones, the few that I have. Bound to happen eventually, and it petrifies me. |

My greatest fear is public speaking. Just the thought of it makes me anxious... _________________ "Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind." -- Theodor Seuss Geisel

| I have a lot of fears, but I suffer the most in social situations, they make me feel so uncomfortable, especially when I'm around strangers. |

I have a huge fear of abandonment. I've lived with my dad all my life and can't even imagine what will happen with me and my state of mind when he's no longer here in this world. My dad has always been there for me and would never leave me deliberately.
I haven't been diagnosed with anything, but I'm very certain that I have adult separation anxiety. |

| well my biggest fear is being pursued by someone. like if someone is chasing after me, even if it's not in a bad way, and it's just joking, i basically have a panic attack. i hate it. and i also DESPISE throwing up and when other people throw up. BLECH. i HATE it. |

Heh, ditto. The going blank thing pisses me off. Makes you look ditsy sometimes
1. Being buried alive
2. Snakes. Can't even bear to touch a photo of one!
3. Someone close to me passing away. Attending funerals of people who aren't necessarily that close to me are almost unbearable 'cos it makes me think of how it would be if it were my close friend or family
I won't put dying in there 'cos there've been times I felt like death would be better than experiencing the feelings I was going through.. Morbid huh? |

I split fear into two catagories, rational and irrational. A rational fear is of something that could get you physically hurt, there is a rational basis. A debilitating rational fear I have is heights, but only on the ground. I love to fly. Go figure.
My greatest irrational fear is being judged by others and found to be deficient in some way. I think my other irrational fears come directly from that. |
