A Rock Hill, S.C., woman called police and asked them to arrest her son who opened a Christmas present early after being told not to, the Rock Hill Herald reported. Police went to the house and arrested the boy and charged him with petty larceny.
The paper reported that the boy's great-grandmother had specifically told him not to open his present, which contained a Nintendo Game Boy Advance. It was wrapped and lying under the Christmas tree, the police report stated.
But on Sunday morning, the gift was unwrapped and the box was empty. So when the boy's mother found out, she alerted police, the paper reported.
"He took it without permission. He wanted it. He just took it," the 63-year-old great-grandmother told the Herald.
The women said that the boy lied to them at first, saying he was unaware of where the video game system was. After threat of calling the police, the boy apparently gave the toy back to his mother, the paper reported. But the upset mother called police anyway. |

| HAHAHA! What a joke!. I can't believe some dumbass mother would call the police because her kid opened his present too early. The woman should be arrested for making the police waste time with this garbage. This is one of the lamest displays of parenting I have heard. |

I support it, because what I heard on the news and other media outlets, is that this kid had done something else wrong in the few days before this arrest. Apparently, he either beat up some kid at school, or something else.
Sorry, I'm not quite sure what he did, but he had a prior "misdemeanor" with either the police, or his mother  |

Even after reading the entire article, I don't agree with it. It's not something you should call in the police over... even if the kid is a little punk.
If she had the kid at 15... and he's a delinquent now... where was she for the first portion of his life, then? Why didn't he learn in previous situation, and more importantly... -WHY THE HECK IS THIS KID EVEN GETTING PRESENTS-? Sounds to me like he needs a good round of punsihment and a few lumps of coal this year.
Then again, now we're straying away from the issue of the article and into how you should raise a child. |

| I don't support it at all, you just don't have your child arrested unless he is a threat to himself or others. Ridiculous parenting. |
