Hello... My name is Alberto (37 yo) and I would like to take this opportunity to meet you. I am from Texas and recently learned about this type of phobia. I am very interested in doing some research about it. I have other types of phobias that I deal with; one of them is acrophobia. I am very scared of heights. I've always suffered with this sickness. I recently had the opportunity of learning of Social Phobia/Anxiety through a friend and seeing how he has done and is doing progress is always very rewarding. He has suffered much about it and has always searched for help. Fortunately he found the right help and little by little he has been making progress. I am glad that I have been experiencing his good outcome. I am here to listen to people and to learn from everybody. If you wish to talk, please respond.
blessings,
Alberto |

Josh,
Indeed it is a great pleasure. It is always a whirlwind of feelings and emotions when anxiety kicks in. I'm sure that he's handling good. It is choosing to make a change and he's doing it quite right. Thanks for the comment. How did you know you had this type of phobia-anxiety? Have you live with it for a long time? Have you had any previous treatment? What kind of treatment if so?
God Bless,
Alberto |

Generally people tell me things like
You should talk more
You're too quiet
You should smile more
You should make more friends
etc...
I am not sure whether I have SA or whether I am just an introvert. When I am with other quiet people I feel normal and can talk to them normally. I just feel a bit anxious when I am with very outgoing people. I noticed this around highschool. Back then I always hung around with the nerds.
Now I am looking for work and I get anxious to the point where it negatively effects my interview skills.

I have not had any previous treatment. I am still managing. |
