I'm 100% sure that I have social anxiety, and I've been fighting it for the past three years, to no success. I'm considering going on medication, but I'd like to hear some good advice to talk me out of it first. |

| You are probably better off slowly introducing yourself into social situations a little at a time, don't overdue it, the more you accomplish the more confidence you will have when dealing with this. |

I agree with what Cliff said. Forcing yourself into social situations a little at a time can help some people. Then if anytime the situations are easier than you thought they would be, you might gain some confidence. This helped me a bit, but I don't think I'll ever be completely social anxiety free.
I took medication before and it didn't help me at all. I don't like medications because I think in the long run they are not good for your body. If they work for you, and you need them to keep yourself out of extreme depression, then that is the only time I would recommend them. |
